Mission
The Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) mission is to equip the Homeland Security Enterprise with the intelligence and information it needs to keep the homeland safe, secure, and resilient.
I&A’s mission is supported by four strategic goals:

From the website: "The Bureau of Intelligence and Research's (INR) primary mission is to harness intelligence to serve U.S. diplomacy.

Drawing on all-source intelligence, INR provides value-added independent analysis of events to U.S. State Department policymakers; ensures that intelligence activities support foreign policy and national security purposes; and serves as the focal point in the State Department for ensuring policy review of sensitive counterintelligence and law enforcement activities around the world.

The bureau also analyzes geographical and international boundary issues.

From the website: "The National Security Branch (NSB)—created in September 2005 in response to a presidential directive—combines the missions and resources of our counterterrorism, counterintelligence, weapons of mass destruction, and intelligence elements under the leadership of a senior Bureau official.

It also includes the Terrorist Screening Center, which plays a crucial role in providing actionable intelligence to state and local law enforcement, and the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group, which gathers and applies the nation's best resources to collect intelligence from key terror suspects to prevent attacks against the U.S. and its allies."

From the Office of the Director of National Intelligence: "The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency provides timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security objectives. Information collected and processed by NGA is tailored for customer-specific solutions.

By giving customers ready access to geospatial intelligence, NGA provides support to civilian and military leaders and contributes to the state of readiness of U.S. military forces. NGA also contributes to humanitarian efforts such as tracking floods and fires, and in peacekeeping. NGA is a Department of Defense Combat Support Agency."
